If you’re looking to make your Halloween candy a little less ordinary, you have come to the right place.
This week, I invited Pedro, my friend’s brother (and who I also I learned, enjoys watching my videos) over to come shoot a video with me.
I wanted to make something easy, chocolatey and Halloween-themed since the Halloween count-down has begun. For a video like my poppyseed lemon cake [1], it took about 6-8 hours to film, and obviously, I wasn’t going to have a nine-year-old stick around for that long, so I chose this three-ingredient microwave chocolate fudge. But instead, I made it a Halloween fudge recipe.
The base recipe begins with three ingredients (condensed milk, chocolate and butter), but as I like to complicate everything, I also throw in 1 tsp of vanilla and 1/4 tsp of salt for additional flavor. It doesn’t make the fudge recipe any more difficult, but it does improve the overall flavor of this decadent treat.
I should also mention that is a microwave fudge recipe – so all you need to do is dump the ingredients into a bowl, stirring every now and then for 3-5 min.
Because this recipe calls for such few ingredients, it is important to use good quality chocolate as its taste is quite prominent. I use local brands, Wedel and Milka, but any chocolate that you enjoy eating plain will work fine. I also use a combination of milk and dark chocolate because I want a balance of sweetness and bitterness. You could go with all-milk or all-dark- whatever you prefer.
I wanted Pedro to have a little fun while making this fudge, so I bought a variety of candies and sweet treats- coloured M&Ms, candy eyes [2], Kit Kats, Oreos and Pecans (which somewhat resemble brains) so that we could decorate and make it a Halloween fudge recipe. This is also a great way to use up your leftover candy after Halloween.
I say, mission accomplished.
Whether you’re 8, 18 or 28, bring this fudge to a Halloween party and it will be a success. You can’t go wrong with condensed milk, chocolate and a whole lot of candy.
Scary never tasted as sweet as this Halloween fudge recipe. The perfect easy Halloween treat. So if you’re looking for recipes for a Halloween party? Halloween treats to impress the kids? This fudge recipe is it.
You can also make this microwave fudge recipe any time of year, and not decorate it. But where’s the fun in that?
